How to send us your coffee machine
Sending a coffee machine by courier is perfectly manageable — the important thing is making sure it is properly protected and cannot move around inside the box. Follow the steps below and your machine will be well protected for its journey to our workshop.
Please send the machine only
Remove all accessories and loose parts before packing your machine.
Please do not send the bean hopper, water tank, portafilter, drip tray, milk jug, filter baskets, cleaning tools or any other accessories unless we have specifically asked you to include them.
Packing your machine
1. Remove all accessories
Remove the bean hopper, water tank, portafilter, drip tray, milk jug, filter baskets, cleaning tools and any other loose accessories. Unless we have specifically asked for something, please keep all accessories at home.
2. Empty and dry the machine
Make sure the machine is empty of water before packing it. Allow it to cool completely and give it time to drain and dry so that water is not moving around inside the machine during transit.
3. Wrap and protect the machine
Original packaging with the moulded inserts is ideal if you still have it.
If not, use a strong, sturdy cardboard box with enough space around the machine for a generous layer of protective packaging.
Wrap the machine thoroughly in good-quality bubble wrap, ideally enough to fully surround the machine at least twice.
Pay particular attention to anything protruding from the machine, such as the steam wand. Wrap the mains plug separately as well so that it cannot move around and scratch the machine.
4. Make sure it cannot move
This is the most important part.
Once the wrapped machine is inside the box, fill every remaining gap with additional bubble wrap or suitable packing material.
Before sealing the box, gently move it from side to side. You should not be able to feel the machine moving around inside.
5. Seal the box securely
Use strong packing tape to close the box and reinforce the top, bottom and main seams.
Once packed, follow the collection and label instructions provided with your repair booking.
A quick test before you seal the box
If you can feel the machine moving inside the box, it needs more packaging.
What not to do
These are genuine examples of machines we have received. Amazingly, both arrived without serious damage — but we would definitely not recommend copying the packaging.

Clothes are not protective packaging
Clothes and towels compress very easily and allow a heavy coffee machine to move around inside the box. They also offer very little protection from a hard impact.

Loose paper is not enough
A few sheets of paper or loosely crumpled paper offer very little protection against the weight of an espresso machine and will not stop it moving during transit.
Before you close the box
- All accessories and loose parts removed
- Water tank removed
- Machine drained, cool and dry
- Mains plug wrapped separately
- Machine completely surrounded by protective packaging
- All gaps inside the box filled
- Machine cannot move when the box is gently moved
- Top, bottom and seams securely taped
