No water from the group head or steam wand

WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE

Little or no water comes through the group head when you try to make coffee.

You may also find that the steam wand produces very little steam or no water at all, and the machine may still make its normal pumping noise.

SAFE NEXT STEP

Check that the water tank is full and seated correctly.

If you use a water filter, remove it temporarily and try the machine once without it to rule out a restricted filter.

If there is still little or no water from the machine, avoid repeatedly running the pump or carrying out multiple descale cycles.

HOW WE CAN HELP

When several functions are affected at the same time, the problem is usually somewhere within the machine’s main water system.

This can include a blockage, pump-related fault, heating-system issue or another internal component preventing water from moving through the machine correctly.

We can test the water path through the machine, identify where the flow is being interrupted and carry out the correct repair.

Machine says the water tank is empty when it isn’t

WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE

The water tank is full, but the Bambino Plus behaves as though it has run out of water.

The machine may refuse to start a coffee or steam function, or the warning lights may continue even after the tank has been refilled.

SAFE NEXT STEP

Remove the water tank and make sure it is seated correctly.

Check the small magnetic float inside the tank. It should move freely with the water level.

If it has become stuck at the bottom, gently free it, refill the tank if necessary and refit it to the machine.

HOW WE CAN HELP

If the float moves normally but the machine still cannot recognise a full water tank, the problem may be with the part of the machine that detects the water level rather than the tank itself.

We can test the water-level sensing system and identify whether there is an internal fault.

All lights flashing

WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE

All of the lights on your Bambino Plus may begin flashing together and the machine may stop responding normally to the buttons.

This is different from the usual cleaning or descaling reminders, which use specific combinations of lights.

SAFE NEXT STEP

Check that the water tank is full and seated correctly.

Make sure the magnetic water-level float inside the tank is moving freely.

Switch the machine off at the wall for a short period, then reconnect it and try again.

If the flashing lights return immediately, or the machine remains unresponsive, avoid repeatedly trying cleaning or descale cycles.

HOW WE CAN HELP

If all of the lights continue flashing after the basic checks, the machine may have detected a fault rather than simply requesting routine maintenance.

There are several possible causes, including problems within the sensing, heating, water or control systems.

We can reproduce the fault, test the relevant systems and identify why the machine is entering the error state.

Steam wand weak or automatic milk frothing not working

WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE

The steam wand may produce less steam than usual, take much longer to heat milk, or stop steaming altogether.

The automatic milk function may also stop too early, overheat the milk or fail to create the texture it previously did.

SAFE NEXT STEP

Allow the machine to cool and make sure the steam tip is completely clean.

Check that the milk jug is sitting flat on the drip tray and directly over the temperature sensor.

Make sure the sensor surface is clean and free from dried milk or residue.

Do not dismantle the steam wand or try to remove the temperature sensor yourself.

HOW WE CAN HELP

If cleaning does not restore normal operation, the fault may be deeper within the steam, heating or sensing system.

We can test the steam output, heating system, temperature sensor and related controls to identify what is causing the problem.

Water leaking from underneath the machine

WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE

Water may appear underneath or behind your Bambino Plus while the machine is running or shortly after you have used it.

The amount can vary from a few drops to a more noticeable leak.

SAFE NEXT STEP

Check that the water tank and drip tray are fitted correctly and are not cracked or overflowing.

If water appears to be coming from inside the machine, especially if it is getting near electrical parts, stop using it and unplug it.

Allow the machine to cool before moving or inspecting it.

HOW WE CAN HELP

There are several places inside the Bambino Plus where a leak can develop within the internal water system.

Because water can travel inside the casing before it becomes visible, the place where it appears externally does not always identify the failed component.

We can inspect and pressure-test the machine to find the actual source of the leak and carry out the correct repair.
