No water coming from my Barista Touch
WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE
Your Barista Touch may sound like it is trying to pump, but little or no water comes through the group head, steam wand or hot water outlet. Sometimes there may be a small amount of flow before it stops completely.
SAFE NEXT STEP
Rule out a dry or blocked water filter. Make sure the water tank is full and seated correctly, then remove the water filter and try the machine once without it. If the flow returns, either replace the filter rather than continuing to run the machine with the same filter, or try re-soaking the filter outside of the water tank.
HOW WE CAN HELP
When all the outlets are affected, this usually points towards an internal blockage or another fault within the machineโs water system. Even if only one of the outlets isnโt working correctly, it can point to either a blockage or an issue with an internal valve affecting the direction of water flow.
We can diagnose which part of the water system is at fault and repair it in our workshop.
Here is a video example of a Barista Touch with little or no water coming through the machine
Steam wand loose or keeps falling down
WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE
The steam wand may no longer stay in position when you lift it for manual steaming. It can slowly drop back down while you are using it, sometimes causing the steam to stop before you have finished steaming your milk.
SAFE NEXT STEP
With the machine cool, check whether the wand feels unusually loose compared with normal.
Avoid forcing the wand into position, wedging it in place or trying to tighten or dismantle the mechanism yourself. If it will not stay securely in position, it is best to stop using the steam function until the fault has been repaired.
HOW WE CAN HELP
The mechanism that holds the Barista Touch steam wand in position can loosen or wear over time.
We can inspect the steam wand assembly, repair the affected mechanism and make sure both the manual and automatic steaming functions are operating correctly again.

My Barista Touch is showing an error (ER code)
WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE
The screen may show an error code, commonly ER05, although Barista Touch errors can appear as ER followed by a different number.
The machine may stop part-way through a function or prevent you from turning the machine on.
SAFE NEXT STEP
Check that the milk-temperature sensor is sitting down correctly and is not sticking up unusually far.
Be extremely careful when checking it. The sensor is very fragile, so do not force, twist or lever it.
HOW WE CAN HELP
An error code typically means the machine has detected that a sensor reading is outside its expected tolerance.
This can be caused by a faulty sensor, but it can also be a correct sensor reading that is out of range because of another underlying problem, such as a blockage or a failed electrical component.
We can diagnose the error, test the relevant sensors and trace the underlying cause rather than simply replacing parts based on the code.
