A few aftercare points on receiving your machine following a repair by FMCM.
If you had a service included in your repair, your machine is ready to use straight away however please soak your water filter in water before placing it back into the water tank – this ensures no air will enter the machine.Â
If you didn’t have a service with your repair we recommend you complete a descale and clean cycle before using the machine for coffee. If the fault originally occurred due to limescale, we recommend using a descaler more regularly at first to ensure longevity of your machine. Please also soak the water filter in water before placing into the water tank to ensure no air enters the system.Â
In terms of ongoing maintenance we fully recommend a descale and clean cycle every 6-8 weeks or more frequently if you live in an area of very hard water like we do in Bristol. We recommend using this Pazazz descaler for regular descales and these tablets by Cafiza for a backflush cycle, where you will need the cleaning disk (available here if you have misplaced it: ).Â
A water filter should always be used in the water tank even if you use filtered water, as not all limescale is removed. We recommend regular replacement of the water filter (roughly 2-3 times a year) and we use these for the newer style filter:Â or these for the older style filter.Â
